Pick Point - Rock Pick Hammers

We have always maintained that you must have the right tool for the job. Over the years we have used plenty of fossil collecting tools, especially rock hammers, i.e. rock picks, geology hammers, brick hammers, geological hammers, geology picks, geologist picks, or what ever else you may call them. Though some may maintain that it doesn't matter what hammer you use, they all break rocks, we disagree. We have gone through lots of brick hammer, rock picks, and crack hammers to find the ones that we offer here. The shape of the head, the balance, the handle, how sharp the point is, all make a difference. And of course price makes a difference too. The quality of your hammer has a direct impact on the fossils you find. These rock hammers have passed our personal tests, and you'll pay a lot less than you will from other places.

Pick point hammers are often referred to as rock picks, hard rock, and prospectors hammers. They are commonly used for working in most non-sedimentary rock. Most people prefer this type of hammer for collecting minerals. However, these can work well for fossil collecting as well.
