- We warrant merchandise produced by Geological Tools and Outfitter, LLC to be as described and free of defect within our own quality control guidelines. Defective merchandise must be reported within 5 days of receipt and the defect will be remedied by repair or replacement. For merchandise resold by Geological Tools and Outfitter, LLC the respective manufacturer's warranty applies.

- Merchandise on our site may vary in the following aspects: The color of items represented on your computer screen are NOT exact colors. (Monitors show colors differently.) Product photos do not represent the actual size of merchandise items. (Please note approximate size in item description.)
- Availability of some products is estimated based on our current or anticipated product flow. We will make every effort to meet the estimated shipping time we provide you with at time of order. However, items ordered in unanticipated quantities may delay shipment of your order. You will be notified by E-mail if any of your items are out-of-stock and a new estimated delivery schedule will be noted.
Credit Card: Paypal. By offering credit card payments through a third party payment service we are able to minimize fees. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express cards for payment in full for your order.
Cashier or certified check, traveler's check, or money order: Your order will be processed immediately upon receipt of payment.
Personal checks: We gladly accept your personal check and will process your order upon acknowledgment that your check has cleared.
We are required to charge sales tax on purchases delivered to locations within the state of Utah. For Utah orders, sales tax will automatically be added to your total amount due.
Canceling an Order:
You may cancel your order prior to our shipping it to you.
In order to fairly ship items to you we have made an effort to represent real shipping costs. We accomplish this by charging a handling fee of $5.50 for most items, plus the additional shipping cost to cover the actual expenses. There are a few items that are small enough not to require the $5.50 charge. There are also item, such as the large bars, that require additional charges. If at any time the shipping charges do not fairly represent the shipping costs we will refund you a portion of the shipping charges. This occasionally happens and we strive to ensure you are satisfied.
We always attempt to ship your package the same day, however we will ship within 1 business day of receiving your order in most cases. We will contact you if there is an item that is backordered and will not be able to ship within 3 business days.
We ship most items via, FedEx Ground and USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. When we do so you will receive an email confirming that your package has shipped. For very small and lightweight packages we will often use USPS First Class mail. In this case there is no confirmation of shipment or delivery, but it is the best way to keep our costs down and pass along savings to you.
If you would like to use an alternate method of shipment, please feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to use whatever method will best meet your needs. This may also require additional charges.
High value packages may require signature for delivery. Otherwise it is not our normal practice to require a signature on delivery and it is your responsibility to notify us if you require this. You will also be required to pay additional for this service if requested.
All packages are FOB Shipping Point, typically Brigham City, UT USA.
We use the following shipping methods. Fed Ex (Federal Express), USPS (United States Postal Service). All shipments will be sent via the best value. We will choose the best service provider based on the cost of shipping the ordered items.
Orders will be shipped via USPS (United States Postal Service) unless prior arrangements are made.
We do not include the cost of duties, taxes, customs, etc... that may be due upon delivery. These will be your responsibility, if they are charged. We have no control over these charges.
We reserve the right to refuse shipments and reimburse funds to International customers. The shipping structure contained in the automatic payment is based on shipping rates inside the USA and may not cover the actual cost of shipping. If this is the case we will request additional funds before shipment. Expect to receive an email from us requesting additional funds prior to us shipping international packages. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Credit Card orders:
Orders will only be shipped to the billing address on the card. If the billing address is not a carrier-deliverable address, contact Geological Tools and Outfitter, LLC.
After merchandise has been properly delivered, Geological Tools and Outfitter, LLC is not responsible for any damage, loss, or theft that results from the negligence of the purchaser.
What to do if your order arrives damaged:
If the package your order arrives in appears to be damaged, do not let the delivery personnel leave without opening the package and inspecting the contents. Damage claims should be made with the shipping company. The driver should help you file the claim form.
If the driver has left and you discover damage, save all shipping and packing material and contact the shipping company to file a claim.
If you have a need to return items it is your responsibility to contact us and receive approval prior to shipping the items to us. No replacement, credit, or exchange will be given without a approved request. If your return is authorized, we will provide instructions on how to return the items. No replacement, credit, or exchange will be given prior to our inspection of returned merchandise.
We will do our very best to ensure that your order will be of the highest quality, free of defects of any kind. In the event, however, that you do receive defective merchandise from us, no restocking fee or return shipping costs will be billed to you. You must describe in detail on your return request the nature of the defect. Upon inspection of the returned item, if we agree that the material was defective, it will be repaired or replaced at our option.
All exchanges, except approved returns of defective merchandise, may be subject to a 5% restocking fee. All shipping charges are your responsibility. If your new order plus fees and shipping, is less than your refund value, you may establish credit with us (in the form of a gift certificate) for future purchases, or, at your request, we will credit your charge card, or will mail you a check for the amount due you. If your new order plus fees exceeds the refund value, we will notify you by E-mail of the balance due. Your new order will be shipped when we have received full payment.
If you require a cash refund rather than an exchange or replacement (after we receive returned merchandise in good condition), this will be handled as follows:
Credit card orders - a credit will be made to your credit card account, or paypal, for the price of the item returned.
Cashier, personal, or certified check, or money order - We will send a check to you for the value of merchandise returned. If the return is due to a mistake of the customer, the cost of shipping and handling will not be refunded.
